Sunavo Dasgupta, MD, is a Fellowship Trained interventional Pain Physician and Double Board Certified Anesthesiologist. He serves as co-director of the MacNeal Hospital Pain Clinic. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and completed his anesthesia residency at the University of Pennsylvania, one of the top anesthesia programs in the country. He then went on to successfully complete his interventional pain fellowship at the University of Michigan, one of the top fellowship programs in the country.
He has presented abstracts at the American Society of Regional Anesthesiologists conference, the largest and most prestigious conference for pain physicians. He has been invited to lecture at multiple grand rounds on topics ranging from novel intubation techniques to peripheral nerve catheter use in the treatment of CRPS. His research has focused on the use of peripheral field stimulation in the treatment of occipital neuralgia. Most recently he was published in the distinguished medical journal Anesthesia and Analgesia for his work in helping to improve patient pain control in thepost operative period.
Dr. Dasgupta is a firm believer in the multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of pain. He believes that the treatment of pain is not always accomplished with a needle or scalpel. There are many facets to each patient’s pain that must all be addressed. Every patient is different and Dr. Dasgupta treats each patient as an individual, helping them to lead more productive, functional, and enjoyable lives.

She attended Chicago Medical School - RFUMS at North Chicago to obtain her Medical Degree and then subsequently went to Wayne State University School of Medicine – Henry Ford Health System to complete her Anesthesiology Residency. She then went on to successfully complete her Interventional Pain Medicine fellowship at Wayne State University School of Medicine – Detroit Medical Center.
Dr. Asif has published multiple articles in major national and international journals focused on anesthesia and pain management. Dr. Asif was also invited to author two chapters in a recently published book titled "Consults in Obstetric Anesthesiology." Dr. Asif has also presented multiple abstracts at national conferences such as American Society of Regional Anesthesiologists, Association of University Anesthesiologists, and New York State Society of Anesthesiologists. Dr Asif continues to be involved in number of clinical research trials focusing on discovering modern resources in treating conditions such as CRPS and post-laminectomy syndrome.

Dr. Kapoor completed his internship at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York and then specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Georgetown University National Rehabilitation Hospital.
He has worked at Southern California Permanente Medical Group in Los Angeles, CA in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department specializing in musculoskeletal medicine, occupational medicine, electromyography, and peripheral joint injections.
Dr. Kapoor provides compassionate and personalized care to all his patients. His focus is on improving patient’s function and quality of life with an emphasis on communication. He understands the emotional effect that chronic pain can have on a person’s life. Using a comprehensive individualized treatment plan, every patient is treated with the most current evidence-based techniques.

From 2003-2005, I completed the Malcolm X College/John H Stroger Physician Assistant Program and received my Associates in Physician Assistant studies and then completed my Masters in Medical Science from St Francis University in Pennsylvania. I have worked for the past 13 years in GI and looking forward to learning a new specialty. I am hoping to be able to use the skills that I have learned over the years to help our team in every possible way. I look forward to getting to know our patients and being able to help them effectively manage their chronic conditions and improve their overall quality of life. I currently live in the northwest suburbs with my husband and 2 daughters(7 and 9). I enjoy reading, cooking and outdoor activities with my family.
