Amit Mehta, MD, is a Fellowship Trained International Pain Physician and Double Board Certified in Anesthesia and Pain Management. He is one of the Directors of the Pain Management Center at MacNeal Hospital.

 

Dr. Mehta has been involved with a multitude of research projects and lecture presentations. He has written multiple publications on Fragile X Syndrome and researched concepts of synaptic plasticity. Additionally, he has studied the effects of depression on pain symptoms and has been actively involved in the healthcare crisis nationwide. He has recently written a chapter on neuromodulation in the textbook, Cancer Rehabilitation and has presented his research on a national and international level. He has talked internationally on the effects of Ketamine on complex regional pain syndrome, and does speak locally on a variety of pain management topics.

 

Dr. Mehta is trained in treating all types of pain symptoms. His particular interests include spinal cord stimulation, CRPS pain, cancer pain, rhizotomy, and chronic back and neck pain. He feels that communication, multi-modal therapy, and treating each patient with a customized plan is vital to rehabilitation

 

Dr. Mehta is an active member of American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiology, American Society of Regal Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, American Pain Society, and ASIPP.

 

As one of the co-founders of Premier Pain & Spine, Dr. Amit Mehta’s mission coincides with that of the other providers in his group. He hopes to provide compassionate, innovative, and comprehensive care by integrating different modalities of pain-reducing therapies so his patients can live a more normal, enjoyable, and productive life.
